Trips and Visits
Throughout the school, the curriculum is enriched and enhanced by a wide variety of trips. We take full advantage of the museums, theatres and other places of interest close to the school, as well as making the most of the wonderful opportunities available for days out in London and further afield.
Below is a selection of the trips currently enjoyed by the children at Vinehall.
Pre-Prep: Bodiam Castle, Brighton Sea Life Centre, Drusillas Park, Hastings Lifeboat Centre and Shipwreck Museum, Herstmonceux Science Centre
Juniors: Bateman’s, Beach School, Bexhill Museum, Cuckmere Haven River Walk, Legoland, Lewes Castle, RHS Wisley
Middles: Brighton Wind Farm, Canterbury Cathedral, Down House, Eastbourne College Orchestral and Singing Days, Kent Farm Life, Rye Nature Reserve
Seniors: Battle Abbey, BFI Study Day, Bletchley Park, Broomhill Sands, Globe Theatre (London), Houses of Parliament, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, RSC Theatre (Stratford)
In addition to the many day trips, starting in Year 5 the children enjoy residential trips both in the UK and overseas. The residential trips offer the children the opportunity to develop independence away from home, contributing significantly to their personal development.
Year 8 Leavers’ Programme
The culmination of the children’s time at Vinehall as the Year 8 Leavers’ Programme after the Common Entrance Exams in the Summer Term.
The Leavers’ Programme is a wonderful end to the children’s time to Vinehall that gives them the chance to bask in the final care-free days of childhood. The Leavers’ Programme includes everything from go-karting to punting in Cambridge, from rounders games against the parents to trips to Alton Towers, from careers talks to colour runs, from rock climbing to camping... the list goes on and one!
As part of the Leavers’ Programme, the children also rehearse and put on a musical, giving them one last chance to be centre stage at Vinehall before they move on to their senior schools.
