Destination Of Leavers

In Years 7 and 8, pupils are prepared for Common Entrance and scholarships to a variety of independent senior schools at 13+.  We regularly send children to Ardingly, Battle Abbey, Benenden, Brighton College, Charterhouse, Cranbrook, Eastbourne College, Eton, Hurst, King’s Canterbury, Sevenoaks, Bede’s, Mayfield, Tonbridge, Winchester and Worth.  A summary of the destinations of Year 8 leavers in recent years is available for download below.

We work very closely with parents to ensure all children move on to their preferred destination at 13+.  The Headmaster and our Deputy Head have responsibility for helping parents with senior school choices and meet all parents on an individual basis to discuss options for their child as early as Year 5. Our aim is to guide parents in their decision making process to ensure that every child is matched to the most appropriate school for them.

Every two years we hold a Future Schools’ Evening at Vinehall, to which we invite Heads and/or their senior representatives from all our destination schools.  This is a rare opportunity for our parents to meet and talk with up to twenty-five senior schools all assembled under one roof.
